Meteora Excursion
Visiting the
monasteries of Meteora, Arachova plus the sanctuary & museum at

DAY
1:
Driving through
the region of Veotia, passing Thebes and Levadia, your guide
will explain about the famous myths like Oedipus, and the first
evidence of the appearance of man dated 12.000 years B.C. You'll
pass by the picturesque village of Arachova, well known for its
hand-made carpets.
Continuing, you'll arrive in Delphi "the Navel of the Earth".
Here you'll visit the museum with the famous bronze Charioteer,
the statue of Antinoos
and the athlete Aghias plus you'll visit
the Delphi sanctuary and admire all the renowned ruins of the "Omphalos"
(Navel) of the Ancient world. Feel the mystery at the "Temple of
Apollo", see the “Castalia Spring” with the two monumental
fountains receiving water for the last 3000 years. Afternoon
free.
DAY 2:
In the Morning
you're free to stroll around the town of Delphi before your
departure from Delphi. Your coach will then be driving through
the city of Lamia while passing by numerous picturesque villages
and small towns of Central Greece. Stay overnight in Kalambaka.
DAY 3:
With a morning
departure from Kalambaka, you'll make your way to visit the
well-known Byzantine monasteries of Meteora, constructed on top
of huge rocks, which seem to be suspended in mid-air. In the
afternoon return to Athens via Trikala, Lamia, Thermopylae (with
a visit to Leonida's Monument), and Kammena Vourla. Arriving
back in Athens in the evening.

DAY
1:
With a
courtesy collection and morning departure from Athens, your
first stop is a coffee break at the Corinth Canal and a short
photo opportunity. Your excursion will then continue to
Epidaurus, visiting the famous Ancient Theatre followed by a
short visit to the picturesque town of Nafplion. The next stop
on this tour of Argolis will be at Mycenae, visiting the famous
Palace, the Lions Gate and the Tomb of King Agamemnon.
Driving through central Peloponnese, Arcadia, as well as the
towns of Tripoli and Megalopolis you will arrive in Olympia, the
cradle of the Olympic Games. Dinner and stay overnight in
Olympia.
DAY
2:
In Olympia you
will have the opportunity to visit with our guide the Sanctuary
of Olympian Zeus and the museum. This is followed by the
departure for Delphi, passing through Patras, the capital of the
Peloponnese. Crossing the new bridge from Rio to Antirion and
passing by Nafpaktos (Lepanto) before
arriving
in Delphi, where you'll have dinner and stay overnight.
DAY 3:
In the
morning you'll visit the museum of Delphi and see the famous
bronze Charioteer, the statue of Antinoos and the athlete Aghias,
you'll also see the Castalia Spring as well as the Sanctuary of
Athena Pronaia. In the afternoon you will depart Delphi for
Athens, arriving in the evening.
